So many people have asked me where I get my strength and energy from. I get it from life and life lessons.
I observe things that happen around me and these things give me strength. The strength to know that everything happens for a reason and somethings in life cannot be reversed. The strength to also know that human beings are fragile so it’s best to live your life to the fullest.
Life makes me feel so fulfilled regardless of any curveballs and I am thankful for the strength to continue living and smiling!
Happy Saturday and what is everyone doing this weekend? I will be running some errands and cleaning my apartment....
TGIF: Remembering the moments I took for granted!
I remember when Tito (@titocee2000) was taking this picture, someone was in the background trying to talk to us at the same time. I was so mad like can’t you see we are busy? 😂😂😂😂😂
Now I wish I can be in a waterfall somewhere tropical and someone will be in my space again 😂😂...
Happy Monday! What is an overhyped city or landmark in your opinion?
Galle is an example of those places that people hyped on blogs. I decided to visit and drove 1 hour from the hotel in Mirissa to Galle and the main attraction is Galle Fort (pictured).
The fort is a UNESCO heritage site which I think is cool but I don’t recommend dedicating the whole day to see Galle like I did. There are other attractions near the fort like Galle Dutch area but all can be seen within 2 hours! I did go to the beach afterwards in order to make the most of my day (check out my stories)...
Today, I want to encourage you to visit cities and landmarks close to you regardless of your expectations!
I have been spending time resesrching things to do around me and of the cities I found was Baraboo, Wisconsin.
Baraboo is a cute city with a lavender farm that hosts the best picnics. If I am being honest, the lavender farm did not meet my expectations. The owners said they struggled with growing lavenders however, the lavender themed picnic and hike at the scenic lake in Baraboo made the 3 hour drive worthwhile. Would I do it again? Absolutely!...
What have you given up voluntarily or involuntarily because of quarantine?
One of the things I have given up so far is alcohol. I drink in restaurants and outings but I have not been able to since quarantine and I have not sought it out as well.
Do I miss social gatherings? Yes! Do I miss alcohol? Not really. I might have a beer after I post this though because now I am thinking about it 😂...
As someone who LOVES animation, I decided to incorporate it in most videos I upload on YouTube. The animation either highlights what Tito and I talk about in the video, or the food we will be eating.
For last Wednesday’s video, we ate Carnitas and the animation was a play on Mexico and craving Mexican food! Let me know if you like it!

ART AT HOME
I had some flowers and fruits from a few weeks ago that were drying up and I decided to cut them up and make it art.
Tips for taking pictures indoors
1. Have a vision. It makes the process faster. I look at IG & Pinterest for inspiration.
2. Always use extra lighting eg a ring light.
3. Add eye catching elements from your surroundings.
4. Use a backdrop that pops but is not too busy.
5. Use a wide angle lens
6. Last but not least, HAVE FUN!!!!...
America’s true independence day is Juneteenth but I digress 💅🏾
I am not mad at getting Friday off though. I was supposed to be in Jamaica this weekend but covid had other plans.
I plan to spend the long weekend by exploring cities outside of Chicago and enjoying a picnic on a lavender field in Wisconsin.
How are you spending your long weekend?...
Who else has flights booked for travel within 1-2 months?
I just booked a flight for my first trip since February. Am I scared?
Yeahhh kinda but being in Chicago for this long is maddening!
I plan to practice all the safety precautions (mask, wipe surfaces, bring your food) plus more because you can never be too sure.
I will of course share details of the trip closer to the date because I don’t want to jinx it 😂...
Has anyone been working on home improvements during quarantine? I know I have! (No it’s not DIY contrary to popular belief 😂. I hired a contractor)
My most recent project is turning a bedroom to a walk in closet (EXCITING).
I want to mount a storage cabinet on the wall but not sure which color to pick. I added a poll in my stories so please head to my stories and let me know.
Can’t wait to show the end product ❤️...
I miss visiting Mexico several times a year as if it was behind my house.
I am pretty sure I would have visited at least twice by now if not for the lockdown.
Cheers to currently visiting Mexico in the spirit by looking at #archives haha.
I think trips within a country of residence would be popular after lockdowns are over. I would definitely be taking advantage of exploring the US more. Top states on my list are California, Colorado, Utah and Oregon. What states are on your US bucketlist?...
Outfit post from my picnic and city escape last weekend. I don’t do enough of these and I always get questions about my clothes.
These dresses are from @asos and I got them for about $30 each on sale. I usually wait till clothes go on sale or better still wait till stores have additional xzy% off sale prices so I am assured of the best deal before shopping.
Buying clothes full price is so 2013.
Jk if you have the dough then by all means. I still refuse to buy clothes full price 😭

Starting to thrive from working remotely because I have picked up new hobbies- videography and gotten better at old ones- photography. I also love seeing what other people have picked up and seeing them thrive. It’s so inspiring!
PS: Trying on several teddy lingerie and shocked that they still fit but we move
